Wide receiver Jauan Wesley has left the Iowa State football program. The move was confirmed through a statement from Iowa State football coach Matt Campbell on Monday.
The news was first reported by Scout.com.
“Jauan and I talked and we made the mutual decision it would be best for Jauan to continue his football career at another school,” said Campbell in a statement.
Wesley started nine games as a sophomore in 2015. He made 30 catches for 301 yards and two touchdowns. The 5-foot-11, 181-pound receiver was expected to compete with Trever Ryen to start at ISU’s ‘M’ wide receiver position, a slot-type player who the Cyclones will get the football in a multitude of ways.
