Iowa State football coach Paul Rhoads held his weekly press conference in advance of the Northern Iowa game on Monday. Here are the highlights.
1. The Cyclones lost their last two season openers to FCS teams. It won’t want anything special to end that skid, Rhoads said.
“It is a simple answer,” Rhoads said. “We need to play better. When adversity comes, which it will, we will need to be able to handle it and respond to it, whether it be in the first quarter or the fourth quarter or many times throughout.”
ISU lost to North Dakota State 34-14 last season.
