Matt Campbell has coached one game at Jack Trice Stadium, but it came as the Toledo coach, not as the head man at Iowa State.
That mattered and that’s why Campbell made it a point to have his first spring scrimmage last Saturday in the stadium.
“I was pretty jacked up,” Campbell said.
The scrimmage was closed to the media. Campbell said he was pleased with what he saw on a windy day.
“Forced our guys to really identify do they know what they are doing,” Campbell said.” Alignment, assignment, execution and then number two it forced us to really run the football and play good run defense.
