Mitchell Meyers’ final chemotherapy session for Hodgkin’s lymphoma was Friday. It was long before he finished up the first-part of his cancer treatment that he started to impress his teammates.
As the Cyclones wrapped up summer workouts they reached out on social media on Friday about how much of an inspiration Meyers became.
“The guy is an absolute warrior and couldn’t imagine going through all he has in the last couple of months,” quarterback Kyle Starcevich wrote in a note he posted on Twitter.
Meyers was diagnosed with cancer of his immune system in February. He spent the spring and summer going through chemo, but he didn’t want it to alter his life.
