Trever Ryen understands the significance and importance of a good punt return. The junior utility guy for the Iowa State football team can sometimes feel the momentum shift as he scampers down the field after catching the ball.
“It’s crazy,” Ryen said. “The whole team gets hyped, even if it’s a 10-yard punt return.”
Ryen knows a thing or two about injecting excitement on special teams. He fielded 11 punts last year for 169 yards.
