LUBBOCK, Texas — Upon finding out he set the Iowa State freshman single-season rushing record, tailback Mike Warren knew who he wanted to celebrate with.
It didn’t take long to find them.
“I just went to my o-line and gave them all a big hug,” Warren said.
It was a well deserved embrace. During a 66-31 loss to Texas Tech, Warren was a bright spot on Saturday. He churned out 245 yards, breaking his week-old single-game freshman rushing mark of 175 yards to become the all-time leader with 574 in a season. He passed the old mark of 471 yards, set by Stevie Hicks, in only five games.
