The Iowa State receiving corps has garnered a lot of hype ahead of the now-fast-approaching 2015 football season. The position is expected to be the strength of the offense, after all, and the buzzword surrounding Allen Lazard and Company has been “explosive,” in reference to the type of plays they made last year.
But head coach Paul Rhoads doesn’t believe the hype is warranted — at least not yet, anyways.
“They’re talented,” he said Thursday in his opening remarks at ISU’s football media day, “but they probably don’t warrant the hype they’re getting.”
There’s every reason to think the receivers will be the majority of the offense in 2015.
