Matt Campbell inherited a football team without extensive depth. As such, the first-year Iowa State coach won’t be hesitant to turn to his first Cyclone recruiting class if need be.
“The thing I do know is we’re really excited about that freshmen class,” Campbell said at the opening of fall camp Thursday. “It’s nice that group got to be in here at the beginning of June so we have seen two months of them. I think it’s a group across the board that can compete, especially with our situation where the depth within our football program has to continue to get better.
