After a tough 48 hours, John Kuceyeski needed a break from football.
Toledo just lost a big game to Western Michigan the day before, and he found out hours earlier, through various media reports, the head coach he worked for, Matt Campbell, might be heading to Iowa State.
With no one having an answer, Kuceyeski popped in “The Patriot” to unwind.
“I know we win this one so I’m going to watch this,” Kuceyeski said.
Hopefully, he enjoyed the movie. Down time essentially disappeared when Campbell called at 12:04 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29. Campbell informed Kuceyeski he was going to be the next Cyclone coach, that he wanted Kuceyeski as his off-the-field recruiter and that it was time for him to start on ISU’s 2016 signing class.
