Cole Netten isn’t one for serendipity. He doesn’t like leaving things to chance.
He knows his exact field goal range, with the latest wind patterns factored in. He’s spent hours crafting his kicking motion to the point he can tell if his kick is good the second he makes contact.
That’s why he didn’t need to look at his game-winning field goal against Iowa last season. He knew Iowa State took a 20-17 lead before anyone else in Kinnick Stadium.
But that’s when the problem happened.
“I didn’t know where to go,” Netten said.
Arguably the most prepared Cyclone didn’t have a plan in place to celebrate his biggest accomplishment.
