Football: How does ISU upgrade it’s OL play?

Experience is everywhere on the Iowa State offensive line. Starters are not.

In an attempt to revitalize a stagnant ground game the Cyclones are entering camp with five open spots on the offensive line despite 78 career starts returning up front.

Offensive line coach Brandon Blaney is after the best players, regardless of position, and will find spots for them. The biggest off-season priority for the offense was reviving a running game that was 105th in the nation last season.

That starts with the offensive line. The Cyclones struggled controlling the line of scrimmage and opening holes in 2014.
