Football: How does ISU fix its pass protection problems?

It was fourth-and-goal. The ball was at the 9-yard line. Iowa State needed a touchdown to extend the game.

And the play never had a chance.

Upon the snap, quarterback Sam Richardson was under pressure from Toledo defenders. There wasn’t time to set his feet, let alone look for his primary target. He tried to move to his left, but additional defenders came, causing him to turn over his left shoulder. Richardson looked downfield as additional Rockets approached. He was eventually tackled from behind by Tre James.

The game ended. Toledo won 30-23 in double overtime on Sept.
