Football: Hofher to be ISU’s QB coach

Nevada assistant head coach/wide receivers coach Jim Hofher is expected to be named Iowa State’s new quarterback coach, a source has told the Ames Tribune. The hire was first reported by FootballScoop.com.

Hofher is yet another member of the staff with previous ties to ISU head coach Matt Campbell. The two worked at Bowling Green in 2008. Hofher was the quarterback coach. Campbell was the run game coordinator and offensive line coach.

Hofher began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Wake Forest in 1979-80. He’s spent most of the last three decades coaching quarterbacks or running backs.
