Illinois tight end/special teams coordinator Alex Golesh will leave the Illini to join the Iowa State staff, according to a sources close to the Illinois football program.
New ISU coach Matt Campbell said it was premature to announce any additions to his staff beyond Louis Ayeni after his introductory press conference on Monday.
Any additional hires to Campbell’s staff aren’t expected until after he meets with the ISU assistant that served under former coach Paul Rhoads.
Campbell and Golesh previously worked together at Toledo from 2009-11. Golesh moved to Illinois with former Toledo head coach Tim Beckman in 2012.
