After the Iowa State-Toledo football game, Matt Campbell approached Mike Warren. He asked if Warren still remembered him. Of course, Warren did.
“I almost came here,” Warren said to Campbell. “So I have to remember you somehow.”
Right now, Warren is the only Cyclone that knows Campbell. That will all change shortly. Campbell will be introduced as the new coach at a noon press conference on Monday.
ISU announced the hire on Sunday. The Ames Tribune first reported on it late Saturday night. The team was told about it in a meeting with athletic director Jamie Pollard and senior associate athletic director David Harris.
