Iowa State is without three returning players, including two starters, for the season opener against Northern Iowa on Saturday.
Starting offensive guard Daniel Burton, starting defensive end Trent Taylor and wide receiver Jauan Wesley were all in street clothes for warmups.
Burton was in shorts with a knee brace on his right knee during warmups. Burton underwent off-season knee surgery and didn’t take part in spring practice while rehabbing. Burton started all 12 games last season and has 20 career starts.
With Burton out expect Wendell Taiese and Oni Omoile to start at both guard spots.
