Iowa State defensive coordinator Wally Burnham gave an impassioned speech defending the 3-4 defense after practice on Tuesday.
The Cyclones gave up 61 points and 776 yards in a loss to Texas Tech last Saturday. It was the first big test for the new defense against a high-scoring BIg 12 offense.
Burnham gave a 95 word answer when asked about the defense.
“I don’t think it’s the 3-4 defense,” Burnham said. “I think it’s the best thing we can be in and I know some of you guys are questioning it from what I hear on Sunday, but you guys need to come up and tell me something that’s better.
