Deon Broomfield named as new Safeties Coach

Following the departure of D.K. McDonald, one of Matt Campbell’s original Cyclone staff members, to the Philadelphia Eagles, Iowa State was left with an opening at the safeties coach spot. The university announced this morning that former Cyclone Deon Broomfield has been named to the position.

Considered a rising star in the coaching world, Broomfield has made a few stops already in his young coaching career, starting as the safeties coach at Carthage College in 2015 after a short stint on the Buffalo Bills practice squad.
