Sunday, the Cyclone Men’s Basketball team kicked off the 2017-2018 season with a victory over Division II Emporia State.
The game initially started close, with the Cyclone offense struggling to make jump shots. Even with the offense’s struggles, the defense showed up and suffocated the Hornet offense by forcing a number of turnovers.
Freshmen guard Lindel Wiggington’s outstanding athleticism through, consistently making aggressive cuts to the rim and playing solid defense. It’s clear to see how high his potential is for this season and beyond.
After the slow start, senior point guard Donovan Jackson jump started the Cyclone offense, hitting a couple three pointers and showing some touch around the rim.
