Thomas Pollard finished sixth in the two-mile at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle on Saturday, running a time of 8 minutes 53.26 seconds, which converts of a PR of 8:48 in the 3200.
Andrew Hunter from Purcellville, Va., won the race in 8:42.51.
Pollard, who led won the Gatorade Iowa Track and Field Athlete of the Year on Friday after his senior season at Gilbert, will run for Iowa State in the fall. He ran an Iowa record 8:50.43 at the state meet last year. He ran a time of 9:07.41 to win his second straight state title at this year’s state meet.
