Iowa State and Kansas State both had a very slow start to this game, with Kansas State leading 5-4 at the first TV timeout.
The shooting woes continued, but Iowa State pulled out of it and branched out to a 38-28 lead with 1:23 left in the first half thanks to Talen Horton-Tucker’s buckets. He made the last 14 points of the first half for the Cyclones. The Cyclone faithful hoped the ten point margin would hold until half, but Barry Brown Jr. had other ideas to trim the margin to seven.
