100 Things Cyclone Fans Need To Forget Before They Die: Jeremiah George Non-Fumble Recovery

On an October night in Ames, Iowa State led late against Texas 30-24. Texas had the ball and was driving to take the lead. Jeremiah George was looking for a big play, made one and everything appeared to be great for Paul Rhoads and the Cyclones, and then it wasn’t.

George, who appeared to strip the ball from Texas running back Johnathan Gray at the one yard line before starting to take it back for a scoop and score, was suddenly stopped by the officials. The officials had ruled Gray’s forward progress was stopped and there was never a fumble.
