IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Junior Tory Harman’s first career goal sent the University of Iowa soccer team to a 1-0 victory over in-state rival Iowa State in the opening event of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series on Friday night at the Iowa Soccer Complex. The Hawkeyes have won six of the last seven meetings in the series.
“It was very physical. That’s the nature of the rivalry. They are a strong team filled with a lot of upperclassmen,” said head coach Dave DiIanni. “We knew physically we had to show up and battle for 50-50 balls.
