KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Following Sunday’s first round play at the Edwin Watts Kiawah Island Classic, the University of Iowa women's golf team is tied for ninth place after posting a 300 (+12). The Hawkeyes played today’s opening round at Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Osprey point.
Chattanooga leads the 41-team field (-5; 283), while College of Charleston sits in second (+2; 290).
“It was a tough day for the Hawks,” said assistant coach Michael Roters. “We had a strong individual performance from Jessica Ip. She played a solid round of golf and is tied for 4th out of 216 girls.
