During the 2024 season, Iowa finished 8-5 (6-3 Big Ten), and the defense kept them in every game (excluding Ohio State). The defense was strong, but they did not have a good season by Iowa standards.
Iowa finished ranking No. 11 in scoring defense (17.8 points per game) and No. 20 in total defense (318.4 yards per game).
Two members of the stout Iowa defense traveled to Las Vegas, along with Head Coach Kirk Ferentz, to represent Hawkeye Football at the 2025 Big Ten Football Media Days.
