The game was a defensive struggle where neither team could gain an advantage. In the end, Iowa State had a sustained drive to set up the game-winning 54-yard field goal.
The Iowa passing attack struggled once again as starting quarterback Mark Gronowski could not push the ball downfield to any of his receivers.
