IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa men's golf team has received National Letters of Intent from Alex Schaake and Jack Simpson. Both golfers will join the Hawkeyes in the fall of 2016, UI head coach Tyler Stith announced Wednesday.
“We are excited to welcome Alex and Jack to the Hawkeye family,” said Stith. “Both are highly accomplished and competitive players that will be big assets to our team.”
Schaake and Simpson join a program that has advanced to NCAA competition in each of the last seven seasons. Iowa has advanced to the NCAA Championship finals three times in the last seven years (2009, 2011, 2012).
