As you might remember, 10 former and current Hawkeyes put their track talents to the test at last weekend’s USA track and field championships in Sacramento, California.
Here’s how they did.

The headliner, of course, was 800m runner Erik Sowinski. The 27-year old was brutally close to getting a spot on the team in a career full of painfully close finishes. In the top-3 for most of the race, he was passed at the very end by former Ashland runner Drew Windle.
There’s certainly still quite a bit ahead for Sowinski and the talented runner picked up his second 4x800m gold medal at the IAAF World Relays a couple months ago in April.
