Kirk Ferentz will have to wait another week to make history in the Big Ten

Iowa falls to No. 16 Iowa State for the second year in a row, and it really is a heartbreaker for the Hawkeyes and head coach Kirk Ferentz. The long-time Iowa coach was on deck to make history today because, with a win, he could become the all-time leading coach in wins in Big Ten history, but he will have to wait another week for that honor.

In a close and hard-fought matchup, Iowa fell 16-13 in the low-scoring, defensive-led game. Iowa had a chance at the end of the game with the ball just below two minutes left in the fourth, but the offense just could not move the ball at all and after taking two sacks and having no timeouts, Iowa ultimately fell to its hated rival.
