Kirk Ferentz has "nothing but respect" for former Cyclone Head Coach Matt Campbell

Iowa and Iowa State do not like each other, and that will not change anytime soon.

No matter what sport is being played, fans, players, and coaches have a certain disdain for the other that rivals most professional sports rivalries.

One of the biggest Iowa-Iowa State rivalries is on the football field, where the two in-state rivals have played each other since 1894.

Between 1894 and 1934, the programs met 24 times on the gridiron, with Iowa winning 16 of those 24 games.

The game was halted for over 40 years, from 1934 to 1977, until the rivalry was renewed and the Cy-Hawk Trophy was established.
