Iowa's replacement for LeVar Woods could be closer than you think

Knee-deep in ReliaQuest Bowl preparation, Iowa Football received the bad news that special teams coordinator LeVar Woods was leaving for a new job.

After being with the program in multiple different capacities since 2008, Woods announced that he is heading to East Lansing to join new Michigan State head coach Pat Fitzgerald's staff.

While it seems like a lateral move, Woods will not only be the new special teams coordinator for the Spartans but will also hold the "assistant head coach" title.

Woods' departure leaves a huge hole in Iowa's staff for multiple reasons, as he was a great coach, ambassador, and recruiter for the program.
