After winning two out of three games in Des Moines against Florida International University, the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team continues west to Nebraska for the 2024 Big Ten Tournament. Interestingly, the Hawkeyes lost 2-1 on the day that ace Brody Brecht pitched. They won the next two days. Brecht only went one inning and couldn’t get the ball over the plate. Normally having Brecht on the mound results in a better outcome for the black and gold. In game two, Cade Obermueller pitched lights-out, going five innings, allowing just one hit, zero runs, walking one, and striking out seven to earn B1G Pitcher of the Week.
