The COVID-19 pandemic has created one of the most difficult recruiting environments in some time. Prospects in the class of 2021 were largely unable to take visits beginning in March of this year. That has led to a need for college programs around the country to shrink their recruiting footprint. Fortunately for the Hawkeyes, this has been one of most talented groups of high school seniors in the state of Iowa in sometime.
The state has always produced quality linemen on both sides of the ball and the Hawkeyes have long mined the state for hidden gems on the defensive side, but rarely has their been a lot of high end talent at the skill positions.
