Yet somehow Iowa missing the Big Ten Championship due to such a loss seemed almost fitting—after all, as elite as the Hawkeye defense has been in 2022, there is no reason an offense as atrocious as Iowa’s should be able to win a divisional championship, even in a division as weak as the Big Ten West was this season.
