Geno Stone has a tremendous opportunity to be the next great defensive back in the Kirk Ferentz era. The Hawkeyes have turned several defensive secondary prospects into NFL talent and Iowa has recently been given the moniker “DB U”.
Guys like Desmond King, Josh Jackson, and Amani Hooker were all recruits that weren’t heavily recruited but became stars in Phil Parker’s defense. King and Jackson both tied the school’s single-season interception record held by Nile Kinnick (8) in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Stone could be the next in line to either match or break the record.
