Coming into the 2019 season, there were two main feelings I had about the 2019 Iowa football team. First, I thought this could be the most talented team, on paper, in the Kirk Ferentz era despite losing four underclassmen to the 2019 NFL Draft. Second, I thought this schedule could be the most difficult schedule the Iowa football team has ever had with a daunting road schedule that includes visits to Michigan, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Iowa State, and Nebraska.
Through three games, I think the potential for point number one is definitely there, and point number two is sort of a mixed bag, but what I have seen from the Iowa football team so far leads me to believe this isn’t your average Hawkeye team that wins 8 games and gets into an above-average bowl game.
