Hawkeyes Shut Out DMACC in Fall Opener

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa softball team started its fall season on a high note, recording a 9-0 shutout win over Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) at Bob Pearl Field on Sept. 11.

“Overall, it was a good start,” said UI head coach Marla Looper. “It was great to get back on the field, get people involved, and see some depth in the circle.”

The Hawkeyes got on the board early, scoring their first two runs in the bottom of the first. Junior Claire Fritsch drew a leadoff walk and moved to second on grounder to third.
