Former Hawkeye Megan Gustafson overcame a major injury to become a WNBA champion

For the third time in four years, the Las Vegas Aces are WNBA champions!

The Aces started the season extremely slowly as the team failed to mesh during the early part of the season.

Most of the Aces' struggles were due to the absence of superstar A'ja Wilson, who was sidelined with multiple injuries, as the Aces had a losing record through July 25.

After Wilson got healthy and returned to her MVP form, the Aces went on a tear to close the season, including a 16-game winning streak that carried them into the playoffs.
