Clark Named Mike Howard Most Valuable Wrestler

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa junior Cory Clark was named Mike Howard Most Valuable Wrestler at the Hawkeyes’ annual awards banquet March 25 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Clark won a Big Ten title and placed runner-up at the 2016 NCAA Championships at 133 pounds. He finished the season with a 26-2 record, scoring bonus points in 12 wins and notching 10 wins against ranked opponents.

Clark was one of six Hawkeyes presented an All-America award. He was joined by senior Nathan Burak, juniors Sammy Brooks, Thomas Gilman and Alex Meyer, and sophomore Brandon Sorensen.
