2015 NCAA Tournament Preview: Iowa Hawkeyes

The Iowa Hawkeyes rebounded from a slow start in the Big Ten to finish the season as one of the hottest teams in the country, and they're hoping to improve upon last season's first round loss to Tennessee.

Resume:

Record – 21-11 (12-6 in Big Ten)

RPI – 43

Strength of Schedule – 28

Starting Lineup:

G Mike Gesell (Sr.) – 7.1 ppg, 3.9 apg

G Peter Jok (Jr.) – 7.0 ppg, 2.6 rpg

F Jarrod Uthoff (Fr.) – 12.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg

F Aaron White (Fr.) – 16.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg

C Adam Woodbury (Sr.) – 6.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg

Key Player:
Aaron White

White is the unquestioned leader of this Iowa team and is relied to produce on the offensive end every single night - and he's usually successful. He shoots nearly 51 percent from the field and has range that stretches all the way out to the three-point line. White has also mastered getting to the foul line, where he collects easy points by shooting over seven foul shots per game.

Biggest Strength:

Rebounding

Like any true Big Ten program, Iowa is a tall team that is physical around the rim - all the components needed to be successful at rebounding. They grab 37.7 boards per game, which ranks them 36th in the country.

Biggest Weakness:

Shooting

Despite all that size on the inside, Iowa likes to shoot it from the outside. The Hawkeyes have some good shooters, but all those shots from outside the paint are lower percentage shots, and Iowa can struggle to score when they go cold.

Outlook:

Iowa has the talent to be a Sweet 16 team, but they've been inconsistent enough this year to where it wouldn't be a shock to see them lose in the first round.
