The midfielder adds depth to the Whitecaps after spending one season with NYCFC.
The Vancouver Whitecaps have acquired midfielder Andrew Jacobson from New York City FC in exchange for targeted allocation money.
Jacobson, 30, heads to Canada after leading NYCFC in starts and appearances with 33 each during his one season with the club. He's also spent time with D.C. United, the Philadelphia Union and FC Dallas during his time in MLS.
"Andrew is a quality midfielder with valuable MLS experience," said Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson in a club release. "He's shown in the past that he can step into a new situation and be relied on to contribute.
