WATCH: Sean Johnson mistake costs Fire points at home

The keeper made a terrible pass, leading to a gift goal that proved to be the difference in a Chicago Fire loss.

Everyone makes mistakes. But Chicago Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson’s error in Saturday night’s match between the Chicago Fire and Toronto FC may be one that could haunt him for some time.

With his team trailing 1-0 in the 52nd minute, Johnson telegraphed a throw so clearly that Jozy Altidore, who had given Toronto the lead, was able to knock down into the path of Jonathan Osorio. Osorio then fired a shot from distance into Johnson’s unguarded net as the keeper was unable to scramble back to his line.
