Warren Joyce and Melbourne City part ways after a frustrating A-League season

The English coach will be leaving the club he has managed for the past two seasons

Melbourne City and coach Warren Joyce have decided to go their separate ways after an inconsistent A-League season saw the club knocked out at the first stage of finals.

The English manager has been under significant pressure this season following a fallout with Uruguayan star Bruno Fornaroli, criticism of his dour playing style and runs of poor form punctuating their campaign.

The club announced Joyce's departure on Wednesday following the extra-time 1-0 elimination final defeat to Adelaide United last weekend - failing to match the previous campaign's achievement of reaching the semi-final.
