Roma have re-opened transfer talks with Manchester United over Chris Smalling, Goal has learned, with a €12 million (£11m/$14m) offer on the table.
The England international defender spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Stadio Olimpico.
Having slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford, the 30-year-old centre-half was allowed to take on a new challenge in Italy. Smalling flourished in Serie A, with his experience proving to be a useful asset at ambitious Roma.
