Reus & Kroos rescue Germany from World Cup elimination - and abysmal Boateng

Joachim Low's side trailed 1-0 at half-time in their crucial clash with Sweden but managed to force a late winner in spite of Jerome Boateng's red

Germany remain world champions. But only just.

However, Marco Reus and Toni Kroos combined for a 2-1 win to rescue them from World Cup elimination - and the stupidity of the abysmal Jerome Boateng.

Germany had looked destined to become the latest side to fall victim to the curse of the world champions.
