Nigeria’s Alhaji Gero joins Iranian side Esteghlal from Ostersunds

Alhaji Gero has moved to the Persian Gulf Pro League side Esteghlal from Ostersunds on a three-year contract after successful medicals.

The Nigerian striker joined Ostersunds in 2016 and made 55 league appearances, scoring six goals before his departure.

On Wednesday, the Iranian outfit announced the acquisition of the former Viborg player.

“Al-Haji Gero officially has joined Independence. The Nigerian striker signed a three-year contract with the Esteghlal Club after medical test,” read a statement on the club’s website.

Gero could make his debut for Esteghlal when they clash with Tractor Sazi on Friday.
