'If I was Nathan Ake, I may have stayed at Bournemouth', admits Van Ginkel

The Blues loanee sympathises with his compatriot over his struggles to get into the first team after returning from a loan spell in January

Marco van Ginkel says that he might have stayed at Bournemouth, if he was in Nathan Ake's shoes, after the defender was recalled to Chelsea from the Cherries in the January transfer window.

The PSV Eindhoven midfielder is close friends with Ake and he has shared a similar career path having moved from the Netherlands to Stamford Bridge, then looked to go on loan to gain experience.

Ake's return at Chelsea came after a string of impressive performances for Eddie Howe's side, but he has since only managed two FA Cup starts since his return.
