I went against mum's words to make big China move, explains South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana

Thembi Kgatlana has come out to explain her decision to dump United States outfit Houston Dash for Chinese Women's Super League side Beijing Phoenix.

In February, the reigning African Women's Player of the Year ended her forgettable one-year stint with the American side, scoring only twice in 16 appearances, having only started twice in 2018.

Upon her sterling display at the 2018 African Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana, Kgatlana sealed her money-spinning move to Asia, signing a one-year deal with the Beijing outfit.

And the 22-year-old, who made an instant impact for Beijing, scoring in a 3-0 win over Shaanxi, admits she went against her mother's advice not to quit Dash.
