Chiedozie Ogbene leaves Cork City for Limerick

The Shannonsiders have lured the attacker from their Munster rivals as Martin Russell looks to build on last year's promotion-winning campaign

Limerick have confirmed the signing of highly rated winger Chiedozie Ogbene ahead of the 2017 season.

The 19-year-old joins Martin Russell's side from Cork City, where he came through the ranks, making a breakthrough in 2016.

Ogbene was a key player for City's Under-19 team over the course of the past two seasons and his performances saw him work his way into John Caulfield's plans.

He made eight league appearances for the Leesiders in 2016, scoring three goals, and also featured in the final of the FAI Cup as Cork defeated Dundalk to lift the trophy.
