Sepp Blatter endorses Morocco 2026 Fifa World Cup bid

Former Fifa President, Sepp Blatter has endorsed Morocco’s bid for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.

After four failed attempts to host the global fiesta in 1994, 1998, 2006 and 2010, the north African country has been handed a major boost in their bid with the disgraced football chief backing them.

Morocco rival a joint bid from Canada, Mexico, and the United States to become the second African nation to stage the quadrennial event on African soil.

And Blatter whose 17-year reign as Fifa boss came to an abrupt end in 2015 after corruption allegations, has referenced joint bids rejected by the world football governing for the 2010 and 2018 tournaments to favour the 2018 African Nations Championship host.
